Today was a phenomenal day at the Dream Center, ending with an incredible worship time at the Angelus Temple. One of the joys of this trip is watching the kids grow in their relationship with Jesus. Every kid has stepped up to pray with someone or the group.
Laila (12) and Desiree (9) were bold and shared God’s love with others. Nathan (11) and Becky (10) stepped out of their comfort zone and found incredible confidence when praying with others.
Jude (11) and Daniela, one of our extraordinary leaders (and if you didn’t read her blog post from the other day, you should), spoke and shared their experiences with all the mission teams. They all have incredible stories they want to share with you. They’ve served and pushed themselves in ways that would put many adults to shame; they’ve been so kind, enthusiastic, and mature.
But when we have a sidewalk VBS, you see their “kid nature” come out as they play games with kids in the community. Then all hindrances, boundaries, and communication barriers drop. They play unapologetically and with reckless abandon. They leave it all out on the mission field, because those kids they are playing with will be the same ones they share Jesus with when they’re done playing.
Jesus told his disciples that we, as adults, must accept the Kingdom of God like these children. Those who worship, serve, and love others like them will find the same blessings that Jesus gave those kids. Shouldn’t we take the same steps?
We have one more day of serving. Would you keep our team in prayer as we close out our trip by serving the Angelus Temple and going to the projects to minister to the community? We want people to come to know Jesus and follow Him with the same child-like faith.

We had another powerful day here at the Dream Center! Our group had the opportunity to serve with the Dream Center’s mobile food bank during our morning and evening outreaches. They deliver everything from fresh produce to canned goods directly to people in several communities. Our first stop this morning was incredible as we watched our kids step up and take charge of passing out groceries. They split our team into two, so we could double the impact in the community. One man stood out to us as many people came through the line. Seeing his smile as he received food was an impactful moment, and the kids were just as excited to bless him with food! The joy of the Lord was present! In the afternoon, we went to two more neighborhoods. The kids’ confidence from the morning doubled! They talked to more people, served enthusiastically, and served even more vital resources! The Dream Center teams commented that the kids’ helping hands were a blessing as they do this work daily. The food trucks have been our team’s favorite service project so far, and we are excited to continue serving in LA tomorrow! Would you pray for our team tomorrow? We are entering our second-to-last day and want to finish the week just as strong as we started.

Today was our first serve day at the Dream Center! We started our morning in the kitchen. The kids were excited to help and learn about everything behind the scenes at the Dream Center. Keeping this place running requires a team filled with God’s love. We prepared food for this week’s meals and spent time cleaning. The kids were thrilled to serve lunch at the center and went around the dining room praying for community members. It was beautiful seeing God working through our kids. In the afternoon, we split into two groups. The first team participated in Adopt-a-Block, which led them around Nickerson Gardens picking up trash, knocking on doors, and praying over the community. They handed out groceries and prayed for people. The second team helped with Dreams Kids, a neighborhood children’s gathering, where kids learned the word of God, did crafts, and had fun. Both teams had the opportunity to connect with the community, spend time with them, and love them. It was terrific seeing the impact of these moments on our kids and the impression they made on the community. We ended the evening by taking our kids to drive through Rodeo Drive and Skid Row; it was eye-opening and heart-changing for the kids. They got to experience a life-changing perspective. We all returned with changed hearts and were excited to continue serving throughout the week to see God's goodness. We can’t wait for tomorrow! Will you pray for us as we serve the community tomorrow on the food trucks?

We made it to LA! After a long day of travel, we made it to the Dream Center this afternoon! There’s always something special about stepping onto this campus; the energy, the purpose, and the heart behind every ministry is amazing. Once we were settled, we toured the facility and got a glimpse into the incredible work done on-site. From transitional housing to food services, it’s clear this place is more than just a building; it’s a lifeline for this community. We wrapped our evening with dinner and a discussion of the week ahead. The sense of anticipation in the air is palpable, and for those who have been here before, there’s even more excitement.Tomorrow, we kick off with our favorite serve project: kitchen duty! We will help prepare and serve the meals to those who live at or near the Dream Center. Then in the afternoon, we’ll break into teams to host a sidewalk VBS and serve those in local housing developments. As we turn in for tonight, we are grateful, expectant, and ready to see God move. Your prayers are appreciated as we begin the work ahead. Stay tuned for more updates from LA; this is just the beginning!
