Pastor Derrick Alvarez grew up in California and has spent his life pursuing both entrepreneurship and ministry with passion and intentionality. As a business owner and leader in the Fresno/Clovis community, Derrick brings a unique blend of real-world experience and pastoral heart to his calling.
With years of experience leading teams, mentoring young leaders, and building organizations from the ground up, Derrick is deeply passionate about helping the next generation discover who Jesus is and step confidently into their God-given purpose. His heart is to create environments where young adults feel known, challenged, and spiritually equipped to live boldly for Christ.
Since stepping into leadership at People’s Church Young Adults (PCYA), Pastor Derrick has focused on building a ministry culture centered on authentic community, strong biblical teaching, and practical discipleship. He believes faith should be lived out daily in our workplaces, relationships, and individual areas of leadership and he loves helping young adults integrate their spiritual growth into every area of life.
Derrick and his wife, Aubrey, are grateful to be serving together at Peoples Church while raising their family. They are passionate about building a home and ministry rooted in faith, integrity, and generosity, and they are committed to investing in the next generation both inside and outside the church.
