This is a gift from God, and Pastor Marcus used the verse that we memorized a few weeks ago, Ephesians 2:8-9, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.” We have been saved because of God's faithfulness and others' prayers. If every step is a leap of faith, we see that prayer can make a mighty impact on our lives and the futures of others, and we see that through the lives of Hannah, Samuel, and David.

Hannah’s story is one of deep faith and persistent prayer. Despite her barrenness and the ridicule she faced, she continued to pray fervently to God for a child. Her faith was rewarded when God blessed her with a son, Samuel, whom she dedicated to the Lord’s service. Hannah’s unwavering trust in God, even in her despair, teaches us the power of persistent faith and prayer.

Prayer:
Lord, help us to persevere in our prayers and trust in Your perfect timing. Strengthen our faith to believe in Your promises, even when circumstances seem hopeless. Samuel’s faithful service illustrates the importance of faithful obedience.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help us hear Your voice and respond obediently like Samuel. Despite being young and inexperienced in battle, David trusted God’s power rather than strength. Armed with only a sling and five stones, he defeated the giant, demonstrating that faith in God can overcome any obstacle. David’s story shows us that God fights our battles and brings victory when we step out in faith. God’s victory through David’s step of faith has inspired generations of people, including those of David’s mighty men who killed four of Goliath’s brothers. Your dedication to small steps of faith will inspire generations, including those closest to you.

Prayer:
Lord, give us the courage to face the giants in our lives with faith like David. When connected to Jesus, we will produce much fruit in our lives. He said so in John 15:5, “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me, you can do nothing.” Every action is a small step of faith that can become a giant leap. Read through the lives of Elijah and Elisha and see that none of the miracles God did through them required much action but a small step of faith that turned into a giant leap. They saw the Lord do incredible things throughout their lives.

Elijah’s faith was showcased powerfully on Mount Carmel when he confronted the prophets of Baal. He challenged the people of Israel to choose between God and Baal and demonstrated God’s power by calling down fire from heaven. Elijah’s bold faith in the face of overwhelming odds led to a dramatic display of God’s sovereignty and a revival among the Israelites. His story teaches us that faith can confront falsehood and lead others to God.

Prayer:
Lord, give us the courage and faith of Elijah to stand against falsehood and proclaim Your truth. We will not be disgraced when we put our trust in the Lord. Instead, Ephesians 6:10 tells us to “Trust in the Lord and His mighty power!” The amazing missionary from Israel showed us what faith overcoming fear should look like!
When we trust Him, we will see that he ordains every step we take. These steps are leaps of faith and permeate the lives of the Jewish exiles in Babylon, exemplified through Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.
Daniel’s story begins with his decision not to defile himself with the royal food and wine. By faith, Daniel requested a diet of vegetables and water, trusting God to sustain him. Despite the potential consequences, Daniel’s faithfulness to God’s laws resulted in favor and wisdom beyond his peers. This small step kept the Israelite men focused on God's promises amid arduous circumstances. Proverbs 3:5 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your path straight.” Sometimes, the road ahead of us doesn’t make sense, but when we trust Him with every step, we will find leaps of faith all over our journey! We can see evidence of this through the judges that God appointed to help lead the Israelites after Moses and Joshua but before Saul and David.

Gideon was an unlikely hero, called by God to save Israel from the Midianites. Despite his initial doubts and fears, Gideon’s faith grew as he trusted God’s plan and strength. By faith, Gideon led a small army of 300 men to a miraculous victory, demonstrating that God’s power is made perfect in our weakness. His story encourages us to trust in God’s strength rather than our own.

Prayer:
Lord, help us to trust in Your strength, especially when we feel weak and inadequate. Our God wants to move on our behalf if we can trust Him in every aspect of our lives. Isaiah 41:10 says, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” As we take our next step in faith, we will filled with wonder at the leap that God does through us. This will be true in your life, just as in Moses!

Moses is a prime example of faith that leads and delivers. By faith, Moses’ parents hid him for three months after he was born. Later, by faith, Moses chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin. He left Egypt, not fearing Pharoah’s anger, because he persevered as seeing God’s invisible hand. Moses’ faith led to the deliverance of Israel from Egypt, showcasing that true faith often requires difficult choices and steadfastness.

Prayer:
Lord, help us have the faith of Moses, make difficult decisions, and lead others towards Your promises. Hebrews 11:6 says, “And it is impossible to please God without faith. Each step they took was a leap of faith credited to them as righteousness, and all nations were blessed through them. Let’s strive to live out our faith in a way that honors their legacy and brings glory to God.

Join us this weekend on Saturday at 6pm or Sunday at 9am and 11am as we continue Faith University!

By faith, Abel brought God a better offering than Cain did. Abel’s offering testified to his righteousness and faith in God. His faith was shown through his actions, demonstrating his trust and obedience to God’s commands. Abel’s faith cost him his life, but his example speaks to us even today, showing that faith involves giving God our best in every aspect of our lives

Prayer:
Lord, help us to learn from Abel’s example of faith.
