WELCOME

We are very happy you stopped by to take a look at who we are…

Within a large congregation of nearly 5000, it is our passion and goal to provide a warm and friendly place for Single Adults, to gather and fellowship together in the name of Jesus.  We are a group of Single / Divorced adults, regardless of age, who have a common interest in developing their relationship with God, and his son, Jesus Christ, and each other.

Under the direction of the pastorship here at Peoples Church, we have a great Support Team of individuals who are committed to Shepherding both Members and Visitors of the group.  Through Divine intervention of the Holy Spirit, our emphasis for this Ministry is to support the Vision Statement of our Congregation – HELPING PEOPLE SEE GOD AND PARTICIPATE IN HIS REDEMPTIVE STORY.  Our Core Vision Components are:

Our passion and calling is to provide a safe environment for you as a single adult or single parent with children, where you can have your Spiritual, Emotional, and Relational needs met.  People will find a loving and caring environment and relationships with one another here – which has, on occasion, led to marriage.

However, we emphasize the growing of your Spiritual Walk first with the Lord, and then, secondly, your relationship with others.

ACTIVITIES – On Campus/Off Campus

We are a very active group of adults who participate in a wide range of opportunities for recreation and fun.  We have weekly activities that can meet the various needs in your life such as Bible Studies, Game Nights, Lunches/Dinners, and weekly Volley Ball.

We also have outdoor activities including Barbecue Swim Parties, The Lake, Yosemite National Park, Miniature Golf, Day Trips to the Coast and Mountains, as well as Camping Trips to the Shaver Lake/Dinkey Creek area – just to name a few of the activities.

COMMUNITY CONNECTION

Within our community, we participate in a successful monthly Community Outreach Ministry – partnering with The Ronald McDonald House, where you have the opportunity to give to and love others through providing dinner and prayer time at Children’s Hospital.  Each month is a different menu, and everyone is invited to volunteer to help cook and serve the families at the Ronald McDonald House facility.

The 2017 year begins our 10th year in this Service.

We believe you will experience for yourself, first hand, the “caring and sharing” of our group and the “sense of community” that we extend to all who are a part of this Singles Ministry.

We look forward to seeing you each week, and we pray the Lord’s richest blessings upon you and your family.

Larry, Chris, Candice, Sharon, and Michael – (Support Team)

The PC Singles Ministry stays very busy year-round, and currently has a number of Volunteer Service Opportunities for anyone who would like to get involved. If you have a passion to serve, a specific talent, or just want to help in some capacity, check out what’s available for you right now.

SINGLES ACTIVITY LINE: Would you like to record your voice on the telephone? Every month Peoples Church Singles Activity Line is updated with information, activities, and events for both PC Singles and S.A.M groups. This is an effective feature to have for single adults in the community who may be interested in who we are and what we do.

DRAMA MINISTRY: “Script! Lights! Action!” HIS cast of CHARACTER Drama Team is always looking for individuals who have a talent for acting and/or script writing.  Short spiritual skits and messages are presented each month in PC Singles Sunday morning class, as well as at other fellowship gatherings both on and off campus. This ministry does require a steady commitment to weekly practices.

WELCOME TABLE: Would you like to answer Classroom and Ministry questions?  Provide information to Visitors, as well as take the weekly Attendance?  You may be just who we are looking for.  Assist with setting up the table with materials and handouts for our Singles Ministry.

ANNOUNCEMENTS: Can you take care of announcing the Events Calendar and other congregation-wide information for the class each week?  We are a very busy group with activities and events throughout each month, and keeping the class and Visitors informed in very important.

CLASS SET-UP / TAKE-DOWN: Many hands make little work.  We can always use assistance setting up and preparing the Sunday Morning classroom each week.  Providing the Coffee and Water service on the back counters is also part of this assignment.

MEET and GREET: First contact with visitors to the class is very important; so is welcoming our regular members back each week.  Do you have a great personality and a big smile?  We are looking for individuals who would like to be greeters for our Sunday Morning Class. We could use “Guy & Gal” teams, which work well.

WORSHIP TEAM: Do you like music? Can you sing or play an instrument? We just might have a place for you on our worship team. Music is a very important part of fellowship to the Lord and to PC Singles Sunday morning class. This ministry does require a steady commitment to weekly practices/performances.

PC Singles KIOSK: Twice a month, PC Singles has an Information kiosk in the Main Lobby.  We provide visuals and other information about our Singles Ministry.  We are looking for individuals who can help setup the kiosk and promote/answer questions for anyone who may inquire about PC Singles.  This is a great way to develop contacts for the Class/Group and make friends within our large congregation.

TEACHER / FACILITATOR: The Holy Spirit empowers the church family in many different ways and services.   Would you like to share a specific Bible message, testimony, or perhaps conduct a short study series on Wednesday Evenings?  We might be able to use your talents. Training, Mentoring, and Coaching to develop skills in this capacity are available from members within the class.

PC Singles HOSPITALITY: Each month PC Singles has a number of calendar events and activities that may require use of someone’s home, clubhouse, or other public facility. Are you able to open your home to occasional fellowship events?  We would like to give everyone an opportunity to facilitate when they can.

We are looking for individuals who are licensed (Class A & B) to drive a bus/van for activities.  Also, use of recreational vehicles such as boats and campers. Use of a truck and/or trailer to assist with moving is also welcome.

SUPPORT TEAM: Our Support Team has a great responsibility facilitating and directing The PC Singles Ministry. Individuals with a passion for Leadership to assist and support the direction of our Class are vital to its Spiritual success and effectiveness. For more information and details with this Service and its prerequisites, please contact a Support Team Member.
