“Beginning classes: Learn time keeping, conga playing, and drum set playing. Intermediate and Advanced classes available for continuing students. These fun and energetic groups begin a new session every eight weeks.

Cost: $120.00 per 8-week session (50 minutes per week).

Brenda Myers is offering BEGINNING DRUMMING classes designed to help you understand:
TIME KEEPING The essence of drumming
CONGA PLAYING The fun of hand drumming
DRUM SET PLAYING The groove of drumming

Brenda Myers, DIRECTOR OF WE GOT THE BEAT YOUTH PERCUSSION BAND, has 18 years of experience teaching percussion in the Fresno and Clovis school districts. She has played drums and percussion professionally for over 30 years. She has played for: churches, symphonies, theatre, jazz, pop, rock and recordings. She holds a BA in Percussion Performance from CSU Fresno, and a Masters of West African/Caribbean Music And Culture from Fresno Pacific University.

COME JOIN THE FUN OF BANGING ON A DRUM FOR AN HOUR
(Please bring an empty soda can or empty aspirin-type plastic bottle to the first class (please rinse and dry the can).

Home School Writing Classes
2006/2007 School Year

Grades 7 & 8 – Writing and Survey of Literature
Develop topic sentences and paragraphs; writing short essays, personal and business letters, and a small research paper; use basic elements of fiction in studying literature.

Grades 9 & 10 – Introduction to Literature/American Literature
Develop five-paragraph essays; write a research paper; expand research techniques and note-taking skills; practice techniques of speech writing and presenting; expand use of elements of fiction.

Grades 11 and 12 - Critical Reading and Composition/World Literature (or Advanced Placement Literature)
Develop persuasive and theme essays; write research papers; expand analysis skills and critical thinking skills.
Classes are held on Tuesdays
Cost: $100 - $140 per semester in addition to books

Note about the teacher - Ginger Niemeyer holds a California Single Subject Credential in English and taught jr. high and high school English for 17 years at Fresno Christian High School. She currently works as the Staff Writer for Peoples Church.

Kindermusik

Register now for Fall Kindermusik classes (newborn through age seven). Music shapes attitudes towards a lifetime appreciation of the arts but also is crucial to language development and reading readiness. Studies show that music provides tools essential for problem solving and fosters emotional bonding and self esteem. Give your child or grandchild the gift of music.

Village Classes (newborn - 18 months) 8 week session. Cost $100 (includes music CD and take home materials)

Worship Dance

Put feet to the expression of your heart in PSCA dance classes.
You can expect:
- high quality professional instruction in a wholesome environment where performance is not the goal
- engaging the body, mind and soul in expressions of worship
- strides towards self-discipline for a higher purpose
- promotion of a healthy body image
- encouragment and mutual support from teachers and peers

Classes begin the week of Sept. 4th and have a maximum enrollment of 10 per class.

Ballet classes are taught by Jenny McCracken on the following dates and times:
Monday 4:00pm - 4:45 for ages 4-7
Monday 4:50pm - 5:35 for ages 8-13
Tuesday 8:30am - 9:15 for ages 8 - 13
Tuesday 9:20am - 10:05 for ages 4-7
Tuesday 1:15pm - 2:00 for ages jr. high

Class tuition for all classes is $40 per month of instruction. Please make checks out to the teacher of the class. The first ten paid tuitions will be registered for that class.
